未知のエクスペリエンス再び― 1968年に発表されたザ・ジミ・ヘンドリックス・エクスペリエンスの歴史的名盤『エレクトリック・レディランド』の50周年記念盤。６枚組LPにBlu-ray1枚を加えた計７枚組仕様。

『Electric Ladyland』は、当時LP2枚組で発売されていたオリジナル・アルバム『エレクトリック・レディランド』をバーニー・グランドマンがオリジナルのアナログ・テープからリマスタリングを施し収録。ザ・ジミ・ヘンドリックス・エクスペリエンスの3作目のアルバム『エレクトリック・レディランド』のオリジナル盤は、1968年10月16日に発売、生前にリリースされたスタジオ・アルバムとしては最後の作品となり、全米アルバム・チャートの1位を獲得。ジミ・ヘンドリックスがプロデュースと監督を務めたこの作品は、今でも米国外で最も売上の多いジミ・ヘンドリックスのアルバムであり、ファースト・アルバム『アー・ユー・エクスペリエンスド』を凌いでいる。同作には当時、トラフィックのスティーヴ・ウィンウッド、クリス・ウッド、デイヴ・メイスン、ジェファーソン・エアプレインのジャック・キャサディ（「Voodoo Chile」のベースを担当）、そしてジミが後に自ら組んだバンド・オブ・ジプシーズのメンバー、バディ・マイルス（「Rainy Day, Dream Away」と「Still Raining, StillDreaming」のドラムスを担当）など豪華ゲストプレイヤーが参加を果たしている。ボブ・ディランの「見張塔からずっと（All Along the Watchtower）」のカヴァーなど、大半の曲でジミ自らベースを担当した。録音された解釈として、史上最高とみなされているこのヴァージョンに関して、1995年にボブ・ディランは「他の人たちが見つけようと思いもしないようなものを、ジミはこの曲に見いだしたんだ。彼は空間の使い方によって、さらにいいものを作ったんじゃないかと思う」と明言している。ディランは1974年の時点で自身の曲を演奏するのにヘンドリックスのテンプレートを用い始めており、究極の形でリスペクトの念を表明していた。『At Last...The Beginning: The Making of Electric Ladyland: The Early Takes』には、未発表デモ.

高い評価を博した長編ドキュメンタリー『At Last...The Beginning: The Making of Electric Ladyland』と、オリジナル・アルバム『Electric Ladyland』の［非圧縮LPCMステレオ 24ビット/96キロヘルツ］［非圧縮 LPCM 5.1サラウンド 24ビット/96キロヘルツ］［DTS-HD マスターオーディオ 5.1 サラウンド24ビット/96キロヘルツ］が収録される。
ドキュメンタリーには、ヘンドリックスが生前制作した全作品のエンジニアを務め、死後の作品もほぼ全作単独または共同でプロデュースを手がけたエディ・クレイマーが『エレクトリック・レディランド』のオリジナル・アルバムのレコーディングに際し、ジミたちが用いた技術のプロセスを、オリジナルのマルチトラック・テープの一部を再生しながら説明し、エクスペリエンスのノエル・レディング、ミッチ・ミッチェル、バディ・マイルス、ジャック・キャサディ、スティーヴ・ウィンウッド、デイヴ・メイスンらが当時を振り返る。
「エレクトリック・レディランド』を5.1サラウンド・サウンドでミキシングすることをずっと夢見てきました」とエディ・クレイマーは語っている。「ジミと私が1968年にやろうとしていた冒険心あふれるタイプの音は、理想的な媒体のようにかねてから思ってきました。＜Voodoo Child (Slight Return)＞の最初のサラウンド・ミックスを完成させたときは、目に見える直感的な興奮を覚えました。掛け言葉になりますが、圧倒的なエクスペリエンス（経験）でしたよ。私たちはこの曲をサラウンド・テスト用に考えていました。音を聞いた瞬間、ジミと自分があの“とらえどころのない”
音を見いだそうとしている自分たちの試みに笑いながら、ステレオ・アルバムをミキシングしていたときのことがフラッシュバックしましたよ」。『エレクトリック・レディランド50周年記念盤』に同梱されるブルーレイにはこれらの5.1サラウンド・サウンド・ミックスが収録される。ヘンドリックスのスタジオ・アルバムとしてはまったく初めてのこととなる。
ニューヨークのセントラル・パークにある『不思議の国のアリス (Alice in Wonderland)』像の前にバンド・メンバーと子供たちがいるという新しいジャケット写真は、リンダ（・マッカートニー）・イーストマンが撮影したもの。ジミ自身がアルバムのジャケット・イメージとして選んだ画像である。この写真はリプリーズ・レコーズから発売された米国盤のジャケットの内側に追いやられ、白黒で印刷されていた。トラック・レコーズからリリースされた英国盤にはまったく使用されず、代わりに裸の女性が見開きに19人並ぶ写真が使用された。ヘンドリックスがこの写真をひどく忌み嫌ったのは有名な話である。このたびリンダ・イーストマンの写真が史上初めてフル・カラーで、ジミ・ヘンドリックスの元々のヴィジョン通りに『エレクトリック・レディランド』のジャケットを飾ることになる。
『エレクトリック・レディランド50周年記念盤』には上記6枚のLPとBｌu-rayに加えてジミの手書きの歌詞、アルバム・ジャケットの別案、当時の所属レーベルへの同作に関する指示や、エディ・クレイマー本人が撮影したレコーディング・セッションの未発表写真、音楽評論家のデヴィッド・フリック、プロデューサーのジョン・マクダーモットの英文ライナーなどが収録されたフル・カラーの48Pブックレットが付属される。

An amazing follow-up to the original Book Of Am project from the 70s acid folk underground – a recording that brings back lost material from the original, and mixes it with new recordings that have a surprisingly vintage feel! The package continues the "progress through a day" trajectory of the first two parts – and although most of the material was not recorded in the 70s, it's presented here with a very faithful feel that's every bit as creepy and compelling as the first half – almost like some of the acoustic folksy work of Current 93 – with a definite Wicker Man sensibility in the percussion, guitar, and eerie vocals! Song titles offer up plenty of hint at this – with tunes that include "Awareness Of Voidness", "What Is The Mind", "Bowl Woman Song", "Sleep Sleepless Sleep", "Nightfall", and "The Swing Of The Ocean Of Joy"

King Crimson 1969-1972 is a limited edition boxed set presenting the band’s celebrated quartet of studio albums from that period - In The Court Of The Crimson King, In The Wake Of Poseidon, Lizard, Islands - in their 40th anniversary edition mixes (created by Steven Wilson and Robert Fripp between 2009-2010).

Additionally, a 2LP set of rarities is included (many mixed and produced by Steven Wilson). The Alternative Guide To King Crimson is presented in the gatefold artwork originally used for the 1975 compilation The Young Person’s Guide to King Crimson. A full-sized replica of the original King Crimson timeline booklet which accompanied that compilation is also included

All albums are cut from the same hi-res masters used for the 40th anniversary CD/DVD-A series, pressed on 200g super-heavyweight vinyl, and presented in their original sleeves.

アコースティックなシンガーソングライター作品が好きな人なら必携の伝説的名盤。
堂々の「ブラックホーク99選」作品。
きらめくアコギの音色と美しいコーラスワーク、しかも地味すぎることはないフォークロックサウンド。
この手の音が好きな方には完璧な1枚でしょう。
Takomaの資料では68年作となっていますが、ほんとですかね？録音も含めて60年代的な感覚はほとんどなく70年代初期のピュアな感覚ですね。
自主フォーク、サイケフォーク界でカリスマ化しているShep Cooke在籍の影響もあってか、近年ほとんど出てこなくなりました。いまや立派なレア盤です。(引用）
